At exactly 1:06 pm Pacific Daylight Saving Time too, btw! [hence the “send/receive” time!] Isn’t science amazing?
Do you see what I did there?
No? Need help? ← click there.
(By the way, if your head doesn’t bob, your lips don’t smile, your toes don’t tap, and you don’t start singing along…find someone quick to check your pulse! C’mon people! It’s Aphelion Day—get into it!)
And who’s with me to try to bring back into fashion white dress shoes???
(That or their concert was in a bowling alley.)
I digress.
Is it hot in here or are we just so far away from the sun right now? So far away.
(See what I did there? Instead of “cold,” I used “hot?” Get it? Yes? No? Dang if science isn’t cool! No pun intended.)
So Far Away….
Hey, wait a hop-pickin’ minute!
In case you weren’t catching the Kool and the Gang vibe up there, I just remembered my favorite rock band, Dire Straits, DID produce an homage to Aphelion Day.
Okay, maybe they didn’t.
Or…did they?
(I’m here every night and twice on Sundays.)
Always and Ubuntu,

So how are YOU celebrating today? Drop a note in the comments to let me know! This only happens once a year! The next one is 584 million miles from now—a bit of a ways away you might say.
Personally, anytime I hear Mark Knopfler pick a guitar is a good day. And as good a reason to celebrate as any.
Went golfing with childhood friend that I haven’t seen in 60 years. Good day, lot’s of memories.
It was actually the West Seattle High School class of 63 Championship, on Aphelion Day. Both very famous events.
