What a Blessing you are experiencing...taking the time to BE and caring for your dad...many of us are learning from your roles as "givers" not just "takers". Peace and Prayers!!💜

And THAT’s even an understatement Mrs. Taylor. I’m not sure there are words that truly capture the poignancy of these moments with Dad. This has been an amazing experience and we are so happy to be in positions to offer this for our father. Not many can; but we can. We know Dad is benefitting from being with family right now; but we are the ones who are touched the deepest. These are unforgettable memories of love and togetherness we are creating right now.

Kert my thoughts and much love are with you and the rest of the family. I’m so proud of you and thankful that you opened your home and heart and soul to uncle Wally. Thank you so very much for helping us all to be there with You and Uncle Wally as he goes home to be with your mom. 🥰🥰❤️❤️

Thank you Suzette! This is a privilege to be able to do this with and for Dad. He’s resting comfortably right now—after a full day of sleepiness. We met our social worker, Ian, this afternoon—it was another chance to introduce our Dad to a new person. Proud moment. EVERYONE at EvergreenHealth Hospice has been truly amazing.

Wow! Your words are so poignant, Kert. You took me back to 10 years ago as we watched, waited, and nursed my mom, each of us grappling with the lessons that the still and restless form on the bed was handing out but we pushed away in denial. I love the beautiful offering of your words and how they captured every tender detail. They are words that cannot be imagined but only flow from being fully present--body, soul, spirit, and senses. What a blessing that you grasp the nature of this beautiful gift that awaits you on your second shift. You were led to start documenting this journey in real time. Thank you for the consistent updates; I doubt that it’s easy to add on. I am certain though that it will be a lamp to guide many weary feet that would otherwise stumble through the long dark road of care if the thief called dementia pays their household a visit. Thank you for sharing. And blessings to you, your wife, brother, and every member of your family. You all remain in my family’s thoughts and prayers.🙏

Your words, Tomi, are so beautiful, there is nothing more to be said. Aside from the only two words that can:

thank you.
