I still get blown away when you make comments on anything I write. Thank you. You continue to enrich my life, just as you had when I first laid eyes and hands on βThe Courage to Teachβ when I was a new teacher. You are one of my most cherished and wise mentors.
This post, Kert. And yes, please offer the names of the podcast and the book. I always appreciate your recommendations.
When I began leading yoga teacher trainings, a friend recommended that I read Parker Palmer's The Courage to Teach." I wish I had read it sooner, as a new yoga teacher myself. My copy is a keeper.
I love it, thank you my friend. The book of poetry I have of Hirshfieldβs is βLedger.β Itβs quite goodβI have a habit of starring the titles of the poems in my books when the author gives them in an index. So many of the poems in Ledger have multiple stars. As for the podcast I listened to, it was from Emergence Magazine (btw, are you familiar with this magazine? It is truly wonderful!). As you usually are, you are such a dear. When I think of how weβll get through βall this,β it will be with the guidance of deeply lovely humans just like you. Your own work and being in this world is akin to all the other divine feminine souls, your kin, on this planet. I donβt know if I will be fortunate enough to meet you in person on this plane of current existence, but knowing you are out there, sharing your self and wisdom as you do, is something Iβm grateful for.
No, Kert, I'm not familiar with the magazine, so thank you for the recommendation and the link as well! I'm excited to learn more about it now, too. Ah, you're too kind. I do agree with you that how we are getting through it in real time, and how we will when it all comes tumbling down, is to be in the company of good people we can learn from and lift one another up. Thanks for your wisdom as well.
Thanks for all of this, Kert, and amen to all you say here. We SHALL overcome...
