Exactly what I needed to read to start my day. Purpose will make these next four years calmer and doable. Knowing likeminded compassionate people are still around lightens my heart.

I love the work of Stephen Jenkinson and have seen him in concert a few times. An enjoyable and thought provoking read, thanks Kert.

It’s likely not going to surprise you I DO know of Akomolafe’s work and agree with you in how you characterize him. “These Wilds Beyond Our Fences” is on my TBR list! I’m drawn deeply to Indigenous cultures and thinkers—which is why I know both Bayo’s and Jenkinson’s work resonates strongly as well. We’ve lost too much as we’ve taken each step to denigrate, destroy, and erase from memory the wisdom of those cultures.

I’ve been to three of Jenkinson’s spoken word concerts. So unique and so great!

Here’s the other one that is among my faves. His book, Die Wise is transcendent. If you watch either of these brief videos, I’d be interested in your reaction to them. https://youtu.be/Zjm8gWY3etg?si=kW8MTVHtpyg3JUma

I still don't have the words to express what the shorts inspired in me: beauty, wonder, and tears. I need to take time to meditate on it all.

I will be ordering the book. Thank you, Kert, for sharing.
